About The Tour
Stage 14 – Morzine
For the 22nd time and 2nd year in a row, the Tour is coming to Morzine.
On Saturday the 15th of July the Tour de France will end stage 14 in Morzine. This gruelling mountain stage kicks off in Annemasse and over the course of 150km will take in a succession of increasingly tough climbs, including some of the most daunting and well known Cols in the Alps. The final and arguably most challenging of the climbs is the renowned Col de Joux Plane, which starts in nearby Samoëns at 688m and tops out at a whopping 1691m, before the 12km descent from Col du Ranfolly into Morzine, an average gradient of 9% will see competitors reaching speeds of up to 100km/h, exciting stuff!
Stage 15 – Les Gets
Les Gets hosts it’s very first Tour stage the following day
Stage 15 will depart from Les Gets and head down the valley through nearby Taninges in a 179km westbound loop past Annecy and ultimately heading back towards Mont-Blanc. Yet again, the peloton is tackling a succession of well-known Cols, culminating in the 500m climb to Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc. Even the best in the world are likely to be seriously challenged by two massive mountain stages in a row, so it’s sure to be an exciting stage!
