This is our pick of the properties in Morzine for those who don't need the adrenaline rush of the slopes and may be looking for a more relaxing holiday in the mountains...our priorities for this would be location in terms of accessing the villages, but also enjoying the stunning mountains straight from your doorstep, and then extra touches in the property to keep you entertained all day long. 1+2. Chalet Sapphire, Morzine - Exclusive Collection - the view from the balcony says it all, you can relax all day here, enjoy the indoor pool, gym and truly soak up the mountain scenery. Yet only a short stroll over the bridge straight into the village centre. 3 + 4. Chalet Cascades, Morzine - Luxury Self-Catered - Just a short stroll to the Nyon cablecar, this is a gorgeous location for non-skiers - you can catch the cablecar up to the plateau to meet skiers for coffee/lunch, watch the stunning Eagle display and also walk the Sentier du Renard up and down the valley. Whether you're not planning to ski much due to an injury or just don't need the adrenaline of the slopes, the mountains are still a fabulous place to spend time. So, here's our mini-guide to alternative activities in Morzine...and coming up soon Les Gets, Avoriaz and Meribel! 1. Hike the Sentier du Renard from the fire station in Morzine to the Nyon waterfalls. Then catch the cablecar up to the restaurant - here you could meet skiers for lunch and enjoy the stunning Eagle display by @aiglesduleman After lunch you could continue your walk up the valley, or catch the bus back to town - Ligne N. 2. Espace Aquatique in Morzine - a 25m indoor pool, plus wellness area with saunas and steam rooms and a cafe! Open in the afternoons during the winter, the main pool is usually quiet and is modern and clean, plus you can still enjoy the stunning mountain views during your swim! 3. Upgrade your hike to a full snowshoe adventure - strap on 'les raquettes' and let your guide show you the most beautiful, hidden parts of our mountains, following animal tracks into the forest and staying well away from any ski lifts! @daysaway_adventures_morzine are our go-to - you can book a private guide or join a group 4. Woody's - Bowling, Arcade Games, Karaoke Booths, Axe Throwing, Laser Tag and more! Plus a buzzing bar and restaurant. This is a fun place to hang out for an afternoon/evening off the slopes, something for everyone! Watch an ice hockey match - Morzine's team 'Les Pengouins' play in Division 1 of the French National League and it's impressive!
