Enjoy Meribel

29 Aug 2016

Ever wondered what your perfect ski resort might be? High-altitude glacier or picture perfect mountain village? Bustling après or authentic alpine? Family friendly or a place to impress on the corporate ski? Or maybe you are working your way through your ski bucket list? We are here to help you make that choice with our perfect ski resort guide.

Here we look at MERIBEL, the heart of the Trois Vallees, and a world class resort that offers something for everyone making it perfect for large groups with many different wants and needs. Is Meribel the ultimate people pleaser? We think it might be.

Méribel - the heart of Les Trois Vallées ski area

Méribel lies at the heart of the Three Valleys, one of the most famous ski areas in the world. It offers over 600km of pistes, with over 111 off-piste trails and over 85% of its slopes over 1800 meters. On a holiday here you could conceivably ski a new ski valley with every gondola, enjoying fresh tracks with every turn and fit in a visit to swanky Courchevel and high-altitude Val Thorens.

Méribel is an ideal destination for larger mixed ability ski groups such as large families, groups of friends or corporate ski groups. The pistes here are extensive but equally suit beginners through to experts, with no one getting bored.

It’s easy to fall in love with Méribel town itself. Comprised of pretty chalet-style architecture, in wooded surroundings, with a friendly village atmosphere and so much going on. From the famous après, such as the excitable La Folie Douce, to Michelin-starred restaurants for delicious fine dining experiences. You can enjoy ultimate après or go totally zen, with hot pod yoga, an abundance of spas, and masses of non-ski activities including cross-country trails, snow-shoeing, wellness, swimming pools, cinema, ice rinks, shopping and so much more. Méribel holds the French national Famille Plus award as a resort dedicated to offering exceptional family holidays and experiences.

Our top tip this winter: Try out the Black Forest Challenge, a 3-kilometre themed sled track with 28 corners and a 470m descent.
