Ski Weekends and Short Ski Breaks

14 Jan 2018

Not sure you could fit in a luxury ski break when your schedule is already at breaking point?
Here’s how to get more piste time this winter…

Short Ski Breaks

The French Alps are perfect for weekend ski breaks and short mid-week ski holidays. Ski resorts such as Morzine, Les Gets and Chamonix have short airport transfer times (of around one hour) and can have you out of the office and on the slopes in super fast time. A mid-week short ski break or a ski weekend is easily possible.

With BC

With The Boutique Chalet Company we offer ski solutions. Our short ski breaks can be tailored specifically to work for you. With a bespoke short ski break there is no reason you cannot get to the mountains and back again with minimal fuss on your part. Have a look at a sample short ski break - a 48 hour ski - detailing some of the travel solutions we can offer. If you want to read about the 36 hour ski break we created for some guests follow this link

And remember, it’s what you do in the mountains. Not how long you do it for. You can waste 10 days on a ski holiday enjoying very little, or you can spend 2 days in the mountain and make them count.  This is the ethos of a BC short ski break.

A Sample Itinerary - 48 hours in the mountains

Day 1

08:00

Go to the office, drop the kids at school, maybe finish some errands. Day One starts the same as all others. Put the out of office on and finish your to do list.

10:00

It’s time to head to the airport.  Your luggage has already been collected.   Your  VIP Lounge access means you can start your holiday.

13:00

Flight lands at Geneva airport. Meet up with the rest of your group. You will be driven by private transfer straight to the slopes, your ski clothes and equipment will be waiting there for you. Enjoy a glass of bubbles at the BC pop-up Champagne Bar while you have your on-piste ski and snowboard fitting. Your Chalet Manager will also be there to meet you as will any ski guides or instructors you may have booked.

15:30

Ski. Ski. Ski. Let the playtime begin! If you’ve booked a guide they’ll get your legs warmed up on the best runs for the afternoon. Two hours no stopping can be a thigh burner, or take it easy on the slopes with some stops for Vin Chaud.

17:30

Lifts close so it’s time for après at the bottom of the piste. Ski down to indulge in the famous French 5-7 aperitif hours. Read about our Boutique Recommendations of our favorite places.

18.30

Your private chauffeur awaits to take you to your chosen luxury ski chalet where you will be welcomed with more Champagne. Spend a moment to get yourself settled and explore your new home.

19.00

Hot tub on the deck? Quick sauna?  A swim*, massage** or game of pool? All qualify as life-affirming, health-giving, restorative playtime which is scientifically proven to be good for your health.

20.00

It’s time for canapés and cocktails by the fire while your private chef puts the finishing touches on your exquisite dinner.

21.00

Enjoy a 5-course evening dinner prepared by our critically acclaimed Head Chef. It’s time to relive the day. From urban to mountain with some pistes along the way. It’s been a good day.

22.30

Digestifs by the fire. You’ve done well. You’ve played like a champion.

Day 2 | 24 hours gone

07:45

The morning is the best part of the day. So it’s up early for an amazing breakfast from our famous Breakfast Club menu which will surely make your eyes bigger than your belly. Enjoy your coffee and take in those mountain views. Perhaps use the chalet iPad to plan your days skiing on the mountain, with your ski guide or with your group. We are always on hand for recommendations.

08.30

Your Chauffeur awaits to take you to the mountain, day two, first lifts, let’s go!

08.45

First lifts. First tracks. The mountain is yours. A full day can take you across borders into Switzerland or Italy, or stay closer to home and take things easy for the day.

11:00

It’s elevenses, which means coffee breaks at altitude, maybe a crepe or you might want to keep tracking the pistes.  This is your time.

13.30

Lunches can start early or late. The most important decision is the venue. The best views, service and menu is what’s important here.  The Boutique Guides can help you make your choice.

16.30

It’s time for great tradition of apres or keep going until the lifts close. Careful of tired legs. Last pistes should always be taken slowly. Stop before you are tired, not after!

17.30

Your chauffeur awaits to take you back to the chalet. This is the perfect time to make use of those Bamford Spa facilities, perhaps book in a gorgeous spa treatment or massage? It’s all organic and botanical. Indulge in the goodness.

19.00

Canapes and cocktails before dinner. In front of the fire, on the terrace, maybe in the hot tub? You are on holiday. Take your pick.

20.00

Enjoy Kaiseki, The Boutique Chalet Company’s Japanese dining experience, a tasting menu of between 5-8 dishes. It comes complete with a carefully selected flight of wines.

22.00

Curl up and watch a movie, play a game of pool or perhaps some cards. It’s ok if you want to sneak off and read a good book in bed. It’s been a good ski day. It’s time take some rest.

Day 3 | nearly 48 hours up.

07.45

Morning two gives you another chance to enjoy the BC Breakfast Club menu. The same as yesterday or want to try something new? Ask your Chalet Manager for their personal favourite. We can’t say no to the Eggs Benedict.

08.30

First lifts or feet up. The choice is yours. The chauffeur can take you for first lifts on the mountain so you can spend another morning exploring the slopes. Prefer to relax? Then you can kick back and enjoy your luxury chalet - the views, the mountains, the Bamford Spa. Maybe take a snowy walk through the resort. The morning is yours to enjoy.

12:00

Mountain Lunch. Skiers can try another restaurant or keep things simple with a chocolat chaud then back on the slopes. You can do so much with nearly 5 hours on snow. Make them count, in any way you choose.

13.30

Departure time. Your 48 hours is nearly up. Skiers can enjoy their final ski down the mountain to meet the rest of your group and your transfer at the bottom of the slopes. Our BC departure pack will help you get fresh for the airport. Your bags are already in the van. All you have to do is sit back and relax. You are all now airport bound. Real life is about to recommence.
